Substandard Comic
Earlier this year, I took part in the Sketchbook Project. Arthouse Co-op sends out 42 page notebooks that you fill out and send back to them. They take the books on a multi-city tour around the US, featuring them in various art shows. The books are catalogued and become part of the Brooklyn Public Art Library, where anyone can go and check them out. I had them scan the book, and anyone can read it here!
I got a Daily Deviation Award!
One of the most coveted awards on deviantART is the daily deviation feature, where your art is chosen by a Gallery Moderator and presented on the front page of the site. The moderators do their best to choose pieces that represent the best of their particular gallery. Today one of my photos was awarded a daily deviation, suggested by Kaz-D and featured by wdwparksgal. It was a picture I shot in 2008 at a botanical garden, the weekend Dave and I started dating. There was a set of sculptures that looked like giant bird’s nests, and we took turns posing in them. The sculpture was “Catawumpus” by Patrick Dougherty. Thanks for the DD, wdwparksgal!

NoHoChella Art!
Two weeks ago, I did live art at NoHoChella, at The Other Door in North Hollywood. I worked in acrylics, and did these two pieces. The unicorn was a glittery painting for DivaDanielle, one of the DJs. The other piece is based on the hipster kitty meme.
